Finn Grand Fest 2005 Marquette Michigan
The city of Marquette, MI was host to the Finn Grand Fest 2005, August 10-14. The entire city geared up to welcome the visitors and the Maritime Museum was no exception!
Along with painting blue and white chairs, the Museum brought the crusing vessel the Keweenaw Star down from Houghton, MI to provide tours of our shoreline to visitors and residents of Marquette. The tour hour tours included a narration of our maritime history.
In addition to the Keweenaw Star, the Maritime Museum, De Vos Art Museum, U.P. Children’s Museum and the Marquette County History Museum staffed a joint booth located at the Tori that was set up in the Marquette Superior Dome. This offered a chance to sell local items and promote our institutions to the over thousands of visitors.
