Join us once again this August for many exciting maritime events.
The Marquette Maritime Museum is working with a variety of organizations to provide residents and tourists many different opportunities to experience Marquette’s rich maritime history for the entire month of August. To make Marquette Maritime Month successful the museum is partnering with: the City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center, the Peter White Library, the United States Coast Guard, the UP Children’s Museum, Moosewood Nature Center, Marquette County History, DeVos Art Museum, Lake Superior Theater, the Keweenaw Star Cruises, the International Lighthouse Weekend Amateur Long-Range Radio Association, the Downtown Merchants Association, and the Downtown Development Authority.
Key Events Maritime Month
—The Pirate Festival-Watch the Pirates Storm Marquette Harbor aboard the Schooner Ship the Madaline. Tours on the Madaline August 9-10, 10 am -6 pm, children 12 and under free with an adult, all others $2.00.
—The cruise ship KEWEENAW STAR will return and offer harbor cruises in conjunction with Seafood Fest in August. While in Marquette the KEWEENAW STAR is available for private charter.
—Tours of Marquette Lighthouse, Daily: 11, 2, 3, 4 pm. $4.00 adult, $3.00 children.
—“Treasure Island: A Pirates’ Tale,” August 6-10 and August 13-17, 7:30 pm, Lake Superior Theater.
