Anatomy of a Lighthouse: Drawing & Painting, July 27, 1pm-3pm
Marquette Maritime Museum and Liberty Children’s Art Project present a FREE Children’s art/history drawing & painting workshop for ages 8-12 based on the book Hello Lighthouse by Sophie Blackall. Registration is limited to 10 and pre-registration is required. Event will be held outside and participants must have a mask and must be able to social distance. Coast Guard Day and Lyle Gun Demonstration, August 4, 1:00 pm
Marquette Maritime Museum celebrates Coast Guard day with a Lyle gun demonstration on the shore of Lake Superior. The Lyle gun was invented in 1877 and was used by the U.S. Life-Saving Service to shoot a line to a wrecked ship. This event will be held outside and is weather permitting. Masks and social distancing are required.
